Dr. Bottorff’s research interests include health promotion, cancer prevention, and gender influences in a variety of settings. Her projects related to tobacco have investigated tobacco use among pregnant and postpartum women, new fathers, youth, the mentally ill, surgical patients, and young women in First Nations communities. Dr Bottorff is co-principal investigator on the iTAG team grant.

John L. Oliffe, PhD, RN
Associate Professor, School of Nursing, University of British Columbia -Vancouver.
Dr. Oliffe's research is primarily focused on gender and health. His main interests include the intersections of masculinities and smoking practices and the development of gender sensitive smoking cessation interventions. He has expertise in the application of interpretive description, ethnographic and grounded theory and experience with various methods including photo-elicitation, individual and focus group interviews along with fieldwork and participant observations. He was a Lead Investigator at UBC NEXUS and Co-Investigator at the Centre for Nursing and Health Behaviour Research (NAHBR) and committee member on the advisory board for the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health

Mary H. H. Ensom, PharmD
Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of British Columbia
Dr Ensom has extensive experience in clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (particularly in relation to women's health, effects of gender, age, and other pathophysiologic states on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and novel approaches to therapeutic drug monitoring). She is also involved in research in pharmacogenetics and pharmaceu tical outcomes evaluations.

Lorraine Greaves, PhD
Investigator at the BC Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health.
Lorraine Greaves has been extensively involved in research on women’s smoking and gender issues related to tobacco use. She is particularly interested in applying a gender-based analysis to addictions research on a variety of topics such as fetal alcohol syndrome, mothering and addictions, integrating nicotine treatment into drug and alcohol programs, pregnancy and tobacco use, tobacco policy, and the relationship of violence to substance use. The findings of her research have been used to inform women-centred programs and policy. She is co-investigator on the iTAG team grant.

Milan Khara, MD ChB, CCFP, cert. ASAM
Dr. Khara is the Clinical Director of the Tobacco Dependence Clinic at Vancouver Coastal Health Addiction Services. The clinic offers tailored treatment to smokers who have other addictions and/or mental health issues. Dr Khara has extensive experience in addiction medicine and education of health care professionals. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC in the Faculty of Medicine and is also on the faculty of TEACH, a tobacco treatment training program from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.

Marvin Krank, PhD
Professor and Dean, College of Graduate Studies, University of British columbia - Okanagan.
Dr. Krank is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, UBCO. He has extensive research experience in substance use with an emphasis on adolescents. His focus is on the psychological determinants of drug use and drug effects including drug tolerance, drug withdrawal and cognitive models of addiction.

Dr. Okoli is Assistant Professor and Director, Tobacco Prevention and Treatment Division, Tobacco Policy Research Program at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing and an Investigator at the BC Centre of Excellence for Women's Health. His research interests include secondhand tobacco exposure, factors associated with smoking initiation, and tobacco dependence treatment in marginalized populations.

Craig Phillips, PhD, LLM, RN, ARNP (US), PMHCNS-BC, ACRN
Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, University of British Columbia
Dr. Phillips is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has a Master of Laws (LLM) in Intercultural Human Rights Law with a concentration on health as a human right and was the first PhD in Nursing graduate from Florida International University. He has extensive research and clinical experience in community settings in Florida, Botswana, and British Columbia. He is the Vancouver PI for an international nursing research collaborative study to explore the effects of self-concept on managing HIV symptoms and antiretroviral therapy adherence. He is the Nominated PI of a community collaborative Catalyst Grant funded by CIHR. He was the recipient of the JANAC Editor’s Award in 2010.

Carole Robinson, PhD, RN

Dr. Robinson has expertise in family interactions and relationships, and their influence on health behaviours. As well, she has extensive experience developing interventions for families managing chronic and life threatening illness. Dr. Robinson is currently involved in pilot work in the area of family dynamics, smoking and lung cancer.
